Entrepreneurship training

"Sakhi" is a capacity-building programme that trains women in rural areas in entrepreneurship. Maitry Manch undertook a capacity building initiative in 2020–2021 to teach rural women how to effectively set up and run their own business. Centum Learning Pvt was our supporting partner for the Sakhi Project.

Aim of the Project

The program's goal is to empower and allow women to start their own businesses and to enhance the general management and operation of an already-existing business. Over the course of eight months, training was provided to rural women. For three months, prospective business owners received training, which included on-the-job instruction. Around 2500 women received training in entrepreneurship.

Apart from in-class instruction, the program's handholding support is essentially the focus. The programme gained importance from its affiliation with Maitry Manch's Udyami-Sakhi Support Center. Content has been packaged in the most practical and useable way possible using Maitry Manch's experience working with rural entrepreneurs and the fundamental business setup. Centum has also contributed value by offering suggestions for useful commerce and marketing material. Content is delivered through a combination of classroom instruction, hands-on practice sessions, actual projects, site visits, etc.
